Animal behavior is the first step to build a strong relationship with your dog by understanding how your dog feels, think and learns. With the advancement in technology, we are able to understand dogs more nicely. This helps us to look deep inside the dog’s mind. It also helps to answer the questions as to how deeply the dogs are connected with humans. We know that apart from experiencing the world through their senses, dogs also try to communicate with us through their body language. We learn more about the dog’s emotional experience. And also the ways in which people have been misunderstanding the key signs from a few decades.
Clues To Understand The Animal Behavior:
If your dog is wagging his tail slowly, this means that he does not understand what is going on. By wagging his tail slowly, he is asking you to tell him what you want him to do. When you see your dog is wagging his tail rapidly, it means that he admits that you are in charge of him.
If you see that your tail is raised and has tremors slightly it means that your dog is showing a challenge. And he is giving this challenge in your authority as he considers you to be the charge of the situation.
If you see that your dog’s tail is tucked in between the legs, then he is scared, afraid or feeling uncomfortable. But if you see that there is no such reason behind him tucking his tail between his legs, take him to the vet.
Understand Your Dog’s Behaviour Through His Eyes:
If your dog’s eyes are wide open and are on high alert, he is trying to get your attention. Your dog is trying to challenge you and he expects you to respond firmly.
If your dog squints and blinks his eyes then it is a sign that your dog is ready to play. But if you notice that your dog squinting his eyes a lot could be that he is suffering from pain. And it is better that you visit a vet.
Understand The Animal Behaviour Through Their Ears:
If your dog’s ears are standing straight up or are inclined forward then he is showing his curiosity. He is reacting to the new events that are going on around him.
If the ears of your dog are flattened against the head it means that he is scared. Sometimes you may see that only one ear is down and it is mostly the left ear. This is your dog’s way of reacting to those people whom he doesn’t know.
Animal Behavior: The Face
If you see your dog is yawning this means that he is grumpy or nervous. Puppies do this behavior when they are surrounded by big unknown dogs.
If you see your dog is licking his face it means that he is stressed or is feeling the pressure of danger.
If you see that your dog is exposing his teeth but he is not snarling, this means that your dog is protecting his territory. They often do this while eating.
